Maternity leave policies are legal, but are they effective?
Most maternity packages meet standard statutory requirements but stop short of addressing the real challenge: chronic sleep deprivation. Without targeted support, returning parents face extreme fatigue, unbearable anxiety, reduced performance, increased errors and a higher risk of leaving the workplace all together. Now is the time to discover where the gap is and how to close it.

About Sleep Made Easy
Sleep Made Easy partners with organisations to integrate gentle sleep consultation into maternity packages, supporting employees from maternity leave through return to work.
The result? Better sleep at home, stronger performance at work.
As a first-time mother, I experienced prolonged sleep deprivation while trying to support my baby’s sleep in a gentle, responsive way. When I returned to work, the ongoing lack of rest quickly affected my energy, focus, and resilience making it difficult to perform to the best of my ability in a demanding environment. Ultimately, I had to make the difficult decision to step away from my role.
That experience led me to research evidence-based, compassionate sleep approaches (avoiding “cry it out”) and later become a certified sleep consultant. Today, I have helped families build healthy sleep habits that improve well-being at home while also supporting parents to function, recover, and thrive at work.

- In house research suggests that 74% of mothers suffer from sleep deprivation.
- Over 70% of mothers are worried about sleep deprivation and performance
Employer Benefits
Why Forward-Thinking Employers are Adding Sleep Support

Reduce absenteeism and presenteeism
- When employees are chronically sleep deprived, they are more likely to take unplanned leave or be physically present but mentally absent. Supporting sleep reduces fatigue-related sickness, burnout days, and underperformance.
Improve productivity and focus
- Sleep directly impacts memory, concentration, decision-making and emotional regulation. Well-rested employees return to work more focused, efficient and better equipped to manage complex tasks and workloads.
Strengthen employer brand and EVP
- Offering meaningful, modern maternity support signals that your organisation genuinely cares about employee wellbeing, not just compliance. This positions your business as a family-friendly, forward thinking employer of choice.
Retain experienced talent post-maternity leave
- The transition back to work is a critical attrition point for working parents. Providing targeted sleep and wellbeing support reduces overwhelm and burnout, helping mothers return with confidence and remain in the workforce long-term.
